Hidden facts of Overseas Telugu Movie Distribution!!!

I want to throw some light regarding the issues and fault practices involved in overseas distribution of telugu movies.Exhibitors(local movie distributors in their respective areas) and telugu movie lovers are being at a great loss due to some Distribution companies.


-People from andhra pradesh especially who have a great passion for telugu cinema are getting into the process of screening the movie in their own areas. First time screener would definitely not know how to talk to the distributor who buys the whole theaterical rights for the movie all over usa(distributor). The distributor would quote a huge price to the new comer who is willing to screen the movie in his own area.South film industry especially in telugu film industry there are several people who have a great passion towards movies and this passion makes them buy movies without even having a proper knowledge of how the trade works once you get into it. The exhibitor who buys the movie to screen in his own area needs to consider few things before he even thinks of buying the movie in his area are:
->What is the previous business of the hero movie in that area?How much was it sold for and how many people saw the movie even after the websites gave ratings to the movie?
This is the first point to be considered as we can get to know the crowd pulling capacity of the hero in that particular area.
For example a super hit movie gives no profits to the exhibitors because the number of people who saw the movie was very less even though it got good reviews in websites, is it due to the heavy price it was sold for? or is the hero capacity is limited to that extent ? basing on these issues you can consider to take the movie by making proper calculations of profit and loss based on the history of the hero.

->Combination craze is another important factor before buying the movie for your area. An NTR-RAJAMOULI movie business would be at its peak when compared to other Combination of NTR with another director, track record plays a major role here especially in usa, the distributor quotes a heavy price to the exhibitor next time as the previous movie in the combination has done exceptionally well. But depending on the previous movie run if the exhibitor tries to take the next movie of NTR with a different director for the same price of the previous combo(ntr-rajamouli) as stated above then it will be a huge risk for him.This factor also must be considered before taking the movie in your area. Its not the same case back in AP,as business there purely depends upon the heroes previous movies and his craze.

->Distributors in USA are buying the films of big heroes for huge prices and due to this they tend to sell the movie to each local area exhibitor for higher prices. What happens here? Its completely the distributor fault to take the movie for such a high price , which makes him sell it for even more higher price than expected which results in heavy losses to the exhibitor. People who tend to enter movie screening business in their respective areas are at major loss due to these kind of distributors, as they are unaware of the movie potential and just due to their sheer passion they take the movies and screen them in their area and it will be too late for exhibitor to realize that there will be a great loss to him.

->One thing i want to say to the distributors is that buy the overseas rights for a price which is manageable,which is normal, instead of buying them for exorbitant prices,producers will demand more money but make sure you talk to them for a good deal instead of blindly paying them the price which they quote ,by this practice even the selling rate to the exhibitor decreases , relations between distributor and exhibitor will become strong and both of them will get good profits.Due to some of the distributors who quote heavy prices to the exhibitors what happens is that the ticket rates have increased to 15$ and sometimes for big heroes its even 16$ in the first week.Everyone is at loss due to this , a family of four would definitely think twice before going to the movie due to the hiked ticket price, due to which the exhibitor is forced to reduce the ticket price ,what happens? the exhibitor is at heavy loss due to this , but he has no other option other than reducing the price as he at least needs to get back the money what he paid to the distributor for the print.


-> Upcoming movies of mahesh babu, pawan kalyan, allu arjun in the summer and the price tag for these movies in all the areas is so unreasonable and immoderate that even the well established exhibitors are fearing to take the movie, then what about the new comers with lots of passion entering into this business? they are just being fooled by the distributors who say that the previous movies of so and so hero has done tremendous business and quote exorbitant prices to the exhibitors(local distributors) and every new comer in this business are being disappeared after one movie due to heavy financial loss, even the well established exhibitors are moving away from this business due to the distributors.

->Its My humble request to the distributors to have control over the money they are paying to the producers while buying rights from the producer for overseas , which will make the exhibitor happy as he can get the print for a reasonable price and even the ticket prices will be reduced to a reasonable extent thereby making the people also feel comfortable to spend ticket money on a movie. Finally everyone will get benefited if the distributor attitude towards buying a Telugu movie changes.

-Movie chaala bagundhi. Love lo unna vallaki definite ga nachuthundhi. normal public ki average ga anipisthundhi, kani lovers should definitely watch the film as they can watch themselves on screen first to last. Goutham menon direction is top class, naku surya s/o krishnan lo love track pichaga nachuthundhi appudu nunchi fan aipoya director ki... eee movie lo kuda love story scripts meedha tanaki unna grip ni prove chesukunnadu.

->Coming to the performances "SAMANTHA" rocked all the way!!! she is the backbone of the movie, her charcterization is excellent, her looks are amazing, she will be the next top heroine in tollywood. She excelled when she proposes chaitu in her place, the best scene in the movie.

-> Chaitu has improved a bit in acting when compared to the first movie but needs to work a lot on his looks and acting, this would not be enough to survive in future, second movie kabatti we can give a exception being a big stars son he needs to improve a lot, dance wise there is no improvement at all, he needs to work hard in this department.Hero characterization is very good, Climax scene lo when he meets heroine after three years his acting was good , first nunchi same expressions tho prethi scene chesunte according to the situation inka bagundedhi, his hard work in delivering a scene perfectly was seen only in climax.

-> movie will be a sure shot hit in A centres, youth lo picha craze undhi cinema ki first day talk super anatam valla cinema halls motham college crowd undhi, movie range will depend after a week, immediate blockbuster ani kuda cheppalemu, kani it has chances to become a blockbuster in A centres , movie slow ga unna goutham menon ( my favorite director) handled it very well gluing the audience to their seats with his brilliant screenplay. Movie first half lo ne almost complete aipothundhi thats the reason people are saying second half was dragged but still it was handled well by the director as he succeeded in maintaining the feel till the last.

Songs on screen arupu puttinchayi chaala bagunnayi, inka bgm ekkuva ledu, unnantha sepu bagundhi , as usual ga goutham menon movies lo back ground score ekkuva undadhu, the same thing happened in this movie.

-Krishnudu character peddaga lekapoyina hero tho unnantha sepu koncham comedy relief untadi akkadakkada. He did his job well.

-puri jagannadh, trisha , simbu kanipistaru movie lo.

Advantage entante movie average ga anipinchina vaalu kuda samantha kosam second time chustharu. Her looks are mind blowing, pichhekinchindhi.

->Positives of the movie Samantha performance and her characterization, Music is top class, hero characterization is excellent.

-Negatives of the movie ante chaitu looks and his dance , expressions in the first half and second half till climax, he must work a lot in all departments.

@Srikanth : Even for arguement sake if you think I am posting fake numbers, its better than certain producers who issued a provocative ad before release stating “Our movie will break Indra records”, delivered an flop. Or another producer who declared his movie would run for 100 days in 220 centers and delivered a disaster.

Akkada comments raasevaru genuine ayyundochu , kani kontha mandhi provoke cheyyataniki kooda rastharu comments, daniki meeru inko producer ni target chesthu post cheyyalsina pani ledhu, enno years nunchi mega family vs nandamuri family godavalu chiru retire ayyaka chaala varaku taggayi it is a known fact. Magadheera hit ayyaka kooda everyone was fine without any fights, kevalam paper ads icharu adhurs producers ani cheppesi there is no need to point out other producers personally being a responsible producer and a magazine owner! Me valla malli fans kottukuni sasthunnaru ..always people used to blame fans and heroes eppudu safe side undevaru kani ne valla ippudu producers madyalo kooda figths osthayi i hope you will not point out any other producer or hero in future!! Fight for your movie but dont comment on other producers!!!!!

Starting of with Chiranjeevi and his family........
Chiranjeevi chaala hard work chesi tanakantu oka image create chesukunnadu telugu film industry lo..... many people say he has come into industry on his own but the hidden fact is that allu ramalingiah garu had supported chiranjeevi a lot and stood beside him during his early days of cinema....chiranjeevi ni chusi roles offer chesina vaalu evvaru leru.... he also had some back up and support from allu ramalingiah garu... of course later on he proved his mettle and made a huge mark for himself in the film industry... chaaala fans ni sampadinchukunnaru and the fan base is even strong now irrespective of his political entry( i would like to discuss about his downfall from the time he entered politics but in my later posts).Idhe fan base has helped his brother pawan kalyan, his son ram charan to get a strong hold in films and among fans.Allu arjun also must be indebted to chiru as he came through his guidance.Chiru ki fan base chaala strong ga undedhi...but time will tell till how many years will this continue ......


Coming to Nandamuri and co

I think Nandamuri vallaki unnantha strongest fan base inka filmindustry lo evvariki undadhu...Loyalfans konni lakshallo untaru veela family ki.... thanks to sr ntr garu(i am not discussing much about him as we all know his greatness)....Nbk could enter industry only because of himof course later on he proved himself doing a variety of movies and gained lot of fans thorughout the state...nenu krishna garu tarvatha antha loyal fans NBK ke chusanu irrespective of the movies they do fan following assalu taggadhu... Jr ntr ippudu young generation lo manchi mass following unna hero...starting lo though he had no support fromhis own family and nandamuri fans he struggled a lot and made his mark and now he has his own strong base of fans..multi talented personality...

Magadheera was a huge blockbuster.....hence it broke all the previous records.
Adhurs started off on a average notE but its collections are tremendous.

antha baane undhi kani who is this allu sirish to publish the figures and compare the two movies? okanormal audience aithe tana istham ochinattu cheyyamanu but being a responsible producer and a distributor,owner of a magazine ilantivi publish chesi fans madyalo inka godavalu penchatam tappa athanu sadinchindhi emi ledu.... if he feels paper lo iche ads are not credible why did he give an ad for magadheera for the first week showing fake collections? manakindha kampu chusukuni tarvatha vere vallani point out cheyyali... let telugu industry be united .....fans first few weeks enthusiasm chupistharu anthe let them enjoy... industry lo untu ila oka herofansni rechhagotte la posts veyyatam sababu kaadu.....Hope ul read this allu
